The Equity Lab offers open, introductory institutes to any individual or group interested in being trained in race, equity, diversity, and inclusion (REDI) principles. Participants will delve into their personal identity and begin to understand how they have navigated life in "the skin they’re in" — exploring listening skills, REDI vocabulary, and the history of America, while building relational trust with other attendees. Participants will then learn to identify detours, microaggressions, and other forms of systemic racism, discovering how to interrupt these incidences both personally and professionally.
The Equity Lab will share important current and historical media for individuals and teams to explore utilizing critical thinking questions for personal reflection and group discussion. These activities are designed to develop a better understanding of our own deeply held beliefs and to help us discover and understand how we show up individually and as a part of a team.
We are offering REDI Introductory Institutes held locally in washington dc:
Session 3: November 15 & 16
