Khadijah Williams

As the National Director of Policy and Advocacy at LIFT, Inc., Khadijah leads the design and implementation of a brand new advocacy and policy growth strategy that aims to influence systemic change and eliminate poverty. Passionate about centering families in policy making and advancing 2-generation economic mobility, Khadijah also serves in multiple appointed advisory roles supporting the economic mobility of unhoused and low-income individuals and families.

Previously, Khadijah was the Senior Manager of Family and Community Engagement at Rocketship Public Schools, where she set the vision and led the region-wide family engagement strategy and supported families in executing grassroots campaigns for education equity, and Legislative Specialist/ Program Associate at the Offices of Ombudsman for Public Education and Student Advocate, where she resolved complaints regarding public education, supported families in navigating the DC education system, and made recommendations to policy makers, government, and elected officials.

Personally, Khadijah’s incredible story of surviving chronic homelessness has been covered by the Oprah Winfrey Show, The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and Essence Magazine. She is regularly asked to speak to graduate schools, organizations, and with the media, combining her unique lived experience and professional expertise to pose thoughtful questions and propose creative solutions to addressing our most pressing social economic problems.
