Maya Stewart, a Prince George’s County native, currently serves as the middle school principal at DC International School (DCI). She joined the DCI as a grade 7 English teacher after several years working for DCPS and Teach for America. As a recent graduate of both RELAY’s National Principal Academy Fellowship (NPAF) and Georgetown University’s Executive Masters in Leadership program, Maya enjoys investigating school leader conundrums of all sizes. Outside of being a risk-taker and lifelong learner, Maya honors relationships as the major key to student success in schools. As a leader who hopes to make self-care part of her life, Maya joined School Leader Lab’s board as the first alumnus! In her spare time, Maya can be found cuddled with her Yorkie, Dallas.
