Aimee Peoples

I am a civil rights attorney by training, something I told myself I wanted to do when I was seven years old and first learned about Thurgood Marshall and Brown v. Board of Education. I attended law school at Columbia University, where I learned from one of the attorneys who argued the case. I currently serve as the Director of Labor Management and Employee Relations for DC Public Schools, a role in which I wear many hats and have sole responsibility for the Agency's Equal Employment Opportunity efforts. I have over 15 years of experience in civil rights, employment law, and conflict resolution. I am passionate about social justice, racial equity, educational equity, and Black maternal health. I am a proud graduate of Howard University and come from a legacy of "good troublemakers." I currently live in DC with my husband and young son, who inspire me daily.
